RECOMMENDED BOOKS

Bookkeeping-QuickBooks Pro™

Accounting The Easy Way, Peter J. Eisen, Barron's Educational Series; 3rd edition (September 1995)

Bookkeeping The Easy Way, Wallace W. Kravitz, Barrons Educational Series; 3rd edition (October 1999)

Century 21 Accounting, Ross, Hanson, Gilbertson, Lehman & Swanson, South-Western Publishing Co.; 6th edition (1995)

The above-referenced books include essential bookkeeping reading and exercises. These are all very good to gain a thorough understanding of bookkeeping. It's a great idea to understand bookkeeping concepts before tackling them on the computer. Saves on lots of mistakes through trial and error.

QuickBooks™ 2004 for Dummies, Stephen L. Nelson, For Dummies; 1st edition (January 2, 2004)

A very humorous look at QuickBooks™ instruction and some basics about accounting. I often use part of this book when I'm training.

Consultant's Reference Guide, Douglas Sleeter, The Sleeter Group, Inc.; (2001)

A very complete guide to QuickBooks™ with tips and tricks on work-arounds to some of the difficulties QuickBooks can sometimes cause.

General Business, Sales & Business Planning

Business Etiquette, Elizabeth L. Post, Harper & Row; (1990)

Greatest Salesman in the World, Og Mandino, Bantam Books; (1983)

Guerrilla Marketing for the Home-Based Business, Jay Levinson & Seth Godin, Houghton Mifflin Company (1995)

A must read. We must market ourselves to be successful.

Money Smart, Esther M. Berger, Avon Books; (1993)

Get organized at home too and plan for your future.

Secrets of Closing the Sale, Zig Ziglar, Fleming H. Revell Company; (1984)

The sales books might seem out of place in a bookkeeping bibliography. However, we sell ourselves each and every day in business.

What Color is Your Parachute?, How to Create A Picture of Your Ideal Job or Next Career, Job-Hunting Tips for the So-Called Handicapped or for People Who have Disabilities, Richard Nelson Bolles, Ten Speed Press; (2003)

These books changed my life. I started this business working through them.

Working from Home, Paul & Sarah Edwards, J. P. Tarcher; 5th edition (1999)

Great resource whether you work from home or not. Good practical business advice.

These and other business books can be found at
